Episode 133 - Beth Lipton: Feeding Your Carnivore-ish Side

Episode 133 - Beth Lipton: Feeding Your Carnivore-ish Side

In Episode 133, we have the pleasure of speaking with author and chef, Beth Lipton, about her recent book co-written with Ashleigh Vanhouten, Carnivore-ish. Beth tells us that it is okay to be a carnivore and explains all of the benefits of preparing and eating various types of animal protein in our diets that can be both healthy and enjoyable. There is no shortage of contradictory information being presented out there on topics such as health, fitness and nutrition. Understanding the basic science behind food composition and human nutrition, and combining that with creative recipes and food preparation guidelines will ensure that you can have great tasting food and optimal health.

Beth is a cookbook author, recipe developer and food journalist with more than 15 years of writing and editing experience as well as extensive training as a natural-foods chef. She is a culinary nutritionist for Clean Eating magazine, and she writes and develops recipes for online and print publications such as FoodNetwork.com, Well+Good, Livestrong, Eat This Not That and more. She also develops recipes for brands, including Butcher Box, Primal Kitchen and YouTheory. Beth also teaches one-on-one and group cooking classes as resident chef at Middleberg Nutrition, and she offers group workshops on health-related topics such as clean eating, sleep, stress, reducing sugar/cravings and self-care for busy people. Workshop clients have included Boston Consulting Group, Chanel, KMPG, Samsung and Warner Music.
