Episode 18: Accepting and Understanding Life's Transitions with Bruce Feiler

I've unknowingly walked myself into a three part series on the show. In our last episode (episode 17) we spoke about how the traditional views of "success" don't necessarily bring us happiness. Maybe it's time to rethink those views of success and find our happiness in other ways. Finding those new versions of success could lead you to make a transition in life.

In this episode we talk about those moments in our lives when we may see an opportunity to make a transition that could change things for the better. Those transitions aren't always easy, and things may get tough before they get better, but it's so important that we keep our eyes and minds open to them.

I had the pleasure of catching up with author Bruce Feiler. He's written 15 books including 'Council of Dads' which was turned into a TV show for NBC. But his latest work is called 'Life Is In The Transitions: Mastering Change At Any Age.'

Bruce spent the last five years working on this book. He interviewed people from all around the country with all kinds of backgrounds. He uses those stories in the book to help illustrate the opportunities that surround us and help us master the skills to manage these transitions.
