WELCOME TO CELTIC MUSIC

* Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. I am Marc Gunn. I'm a Celtic musician and podcaster. This show is dedicated to the independent Celtic musicians. Please support these artists. I hope you had a great summer. It's officially over for me. And I'm thrilled. Because this means I get to put my focus back on promoting the podcast and creating music. The things I love.

I'm already finishing up my next album called Selcouth. I have some fun songs on it. Both traditional songs as well as my fusion of sci fi and fantasy. I should have another song to share in a few weeks.

I one final question before we continue the show. Do you listen to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast by yourself or with others? Let me know.

ATTN Celtic Musicians. I'm looking for some good stories to share. Pub Songs & Stories is our companion podcast. I share the stories and inspiration behind the songs.

If you have a story that you'd like to share about a song, or from a gig, or maybe even just a piece of Celtic history that you love. Drop me an email at celticpodcast@gmail.com. Put "Pub Story" in the show subject. Tell me about your story. Maybe I'll ask you to record it for the show.

THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST!

Because of Your kind and generous support, this show comes out. Your generosity funds the creation, promotion and production of the show. It allows us to attract new listeners and to help our community grow.

While I'm mentioning Patreon, I should point out, there are a lot of Celtic musicians on Patreon. I have a blog post listing most of them. If there's a band missing, let me know.

Gaelynn Lea Tressler joined Patreon and emailed: "Thanks for making this podcast!

Hello! I am a new (but huge!) fan of this podcast. My husband and I started listening to Trip to the Cottage's back catalog (from Radio Kerry) way back in March 2020 but it went off the air and they recently seem to have taken down all the old episodes, alas! So we needed a new Celtic music fix for our nightly Guinness by the fire! :) This is a great show. Thanks for making it, and I am so pumped there are over 500 episodes to go back to as a new listener!

On a side note, I am a fiddler/songwriter and I have done some live-looped renditions of traditional Celtic tunes like The Parting Glass, Swallowtail Jig, Rites of Man, and others. Take care and keep up the great work! Truly"

Find her music on bandcamp or her website and here is her website.

Peter Bengtson emailed a photo: "Hi Mark, I did go on Podcast Awards and voted for the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast for the 2 categories you mentioned.

I was out this morning doing one of my adjacent neighborhood walks. I was listening to episode #517, Women of Summer. A very enjoyable episode! I covered 5.35 miles, gained only 162 feet elevation gain (pretty flat). It took me 2 hours. I had given up on finding something interesting to photograph. Then I found:"

Woodland Folk sent a bunch of pictures over the past month. I'm gonna include many of them in the shownotes and wrote: "A calming, summer hour of Voices and melody...Thank u"
