146 - Catholic & MGTOW

Here are some of Dennis's comments and questions: "Please keep my real identity secret and use the name Dennis Strickton. I took the red pill around this time last year, and my life has improved dramatically ever since then. I have rejected marriage and long-term relationships, but am still open to short-term relationships provided there is some real benefit. Unlike a lot of other men going their own way, I have not had any particularly traumatic experiences with women - nothing beyond the normal frustrations of dealing with rejection on the one hand, and entitled women on the other hand. Another difference is that, while most MGTOW are either atheist or agnostic, I am an observant, traditionalist, pre-Vatican II Roman Catholic. I will admit that during my blue pill days, the primary reason I wanted to marry was that sex outside of marriage is a moral sin. I certainly didn't want to be guilty of mortal sin, but I didn't want to live without sex either. So I saw marriage as my only choice. Within Roman Catholicism, there is a strong emphasis on the idea of vocations. You are either married (with 12 children), a priest, a monk / nun / member of a religious order, or otherwise you simply have not found your true vocation. My devout friends are telling me that secular celibacy is NOT a valid option and that I need to choose one of the three, or at the very least enter a life of consecrated single-hood. In the eyes of the Church, MGTOW are seen as people who never found, or simply gave up on, their vocation. One of my devout Catholic friends told me that "MGTOW is selfish, hedonistic, materialistic, and demographically suicidal. It is Satanic, saying "Non serviam" to God, man, nation, and race. MGTOW and MRA are unnatural, erroneous, untenable, losing, immoral positions; the correct position is benevolent patriarchy. Even first wave feminism was a mistake." another one said "MGTOW is fundamentally selfish, turning inward on oneself, the sure sign of pride and sin. It is concerned with comfort and not Goodness, duty, charity. We Catholics should be giving our entire lives to doing God's will, not being selfish and materialistic. Sure, we should be prudent, cautious, and practice self-preservation; we should make sure that our wife obeys us, is virtuous, is Catholic, is humble and modest, etc."
