184 - Rob Ford's Life

Today's video is brought to you by a donation from Jeff. There was no specific topic request so I'm going to cover a man I've wanted to discuss for quite some time. And that man is Rob Ford the mayor Toronto, Canada, the city I live in. Yesterday Rob Ford was rushed to the hospital with unbearable abdominal pain in his stomach. So in the hospital they found that he has a tumor in his chest and with the election only about a month away he might have to step down as the mayor and call it quits. The mayor of Toronto I believe is the ultimate disposable man and a good indication of how other men think as well. He's has been having chest pain for many months now and I'm pretty sure his wife knew about this. I don't know if she asked him to get treatment for the sake of herself, the city or their two children. But he waited to get his health problem checked out and this is very typical for men. We are stubborn because many of us want to do things for others because of the honor, satisfaction and fulfillment we get from it. Rob Ford's family has a net worth in the neighborhood of two hundred million dollars. And Rob Ford personally has a fifty million dollar net worth and yet he drives a domestic SUV and lives in a suburban three bedroom bungalow. He lives a very modest life and spends his days working as a civil servant. He doesn't buy himself lavish homes, clothes, cars and other things but I often wonder about his relationship with his wife. I respect the fact that he has literally gone his own way as a mayor. But I wonder if his wife is just watching him self destruct knowing full well that he could die from a heart attack at any moment. We'll know in a few days if he has aggressive cancer and if he does the prognosis would not be good at his age. He's only forty five years old. I also don't know very much about his wife as she's very private and she doesn't seem to look after their two kids. From everything I've read she gets her own parents to take care of the kids while she spends most of her time quietly at home. That's the story anyways. Maybe she's urging him to eat more food and get bigger and bigger knowing he'll die from a heart attack. I know for a fact there are women out there that try to fatten up men. Even one of my ex girlfriends tried to get me to put on thirty pounds. Maybe she's afraid that if he looked good he would end the marriage and chase after another woman? Maybe there's another reason. But they are high school sweethearts after all and if she's hypergamous she could just be waiting for him to die from smoking too much crack or having a heart attack. Then she would be left with fifty million dollars and the ability to live any which way she chooses. If he were to die in the next few years it would be interesting to see if she would move out of the small three bedroom home and purchase a mansion and surround herself with an expensive lifestyle?
