Who is Sol Rashidi?

Rashidi is a leader in the AI, Data and Technology space. Starting in 2011, Rashidi worked at IBM as part of the team that launched Watson, one of the earliest world applications of Artificial Intelligence. Since, she has led more than 36 large scale AI implementations and has been at the forefront of ideation, conceptualization, design and development of Data & AI applications. Rashidi holds 8 patents in DATA Space and Enterprise Data Management (EDM).


Sol has served as a C-Suite member across several Fortune 100 & Fortune 500 companies including:

He is an expert in systems optimization, risk analysis and supply chain management, which are the subjects he researches and teaches at MIT, both at the MIT School of Engineering and at the Sloan School of Management. From 2007 to 2011 he served as Head of MIT's Engineering Systems Division. In these years he set up the administrative structure, launched a successful PhD program, hired and promoted several faculty members and set the long term strategy of the division.  Dr. Sheffi has been recognized in numerous ways in academic and industry forums, including the 1997 Distinguished Service Award given by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He is the author of several books including his latest "The Magic Conveyor Belt: Supply Chains, A.I., and the Future of Work." Why this Episode?
