Preserved Evidence – DNA Solves 1989 Kansas Cold Case

34 years ago, Wichita Kansas police collected evidence they never through would solve a case that went cold. Listen this week as Steve and Hannah discuss the brutal murder of 20-year-old Krista Martin as it lay dormant until advances in technology aided in the identification of the suspect. Though the killer died in a 1999 car crash, investigators tracked down family members after genetic genealogy opened the case back up, obtained DNA samples, and gave Krista’s family justice.
