Episode 13 with Luke Fedlam: Protecting athletes, Identity, Name, Image, Likeness

Luke is a personal, non-agent sports attorney with more than 15 years of experience, focused on protecting and educating professional athletes at any phase of their career. As a Partner at Porter Wright, Luke leads the firm’s sports Law Practice, regularly advising a range of clients across the country – from student athletes transitioning into professional sports, professional athletes navigating life on a team, to retiring athletes creating the game plan for their life after sports.

In 2015, Luke created Anomaly Sports Group to transform his daily work with athletes, families and advisors into educational programs for athletes at all levels. With a shared passion for athlete protection and professional development, Porter Wright works in tandem with Anomaly as an educational resource, consulting with both collegiate and professional sports organizations on student–athlete development and player engagement programming. Luke received his J.D. from The Ohio State University and B.A. from Wake Forest University.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Luke, a former Division I athlete and U.S. Army veteran, served as a legal manager in the mergers & acquisitions area and director of business development at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. Luke is admitted to the Ohio Bar and is a member of the American Bar Association, Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries and the Sport Lawyers Association.

Luke also has his own podcast about Protecting Athletes called Protecting your Possibilities: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/protecting-your-possibilities/id1523714657
