Creating OER in Louisiana with Emily Frank, Amelia Brister, and Chresancio Jackson

Creating OER in Louisiana with Emily Frank, Amelia Brister, and Chresancio Jackson

If you're considering implementing or creating OER materials in an academic setting, this episode is for you! We spoke with three guests about Creating OER, or Open Education Resources:

  • Emily Frank, Affordable Learning Administrator at LOUIS
  • Amelia Brister, Director of Library and Learning Resources at Louisiana Delta Community College
  • Chresancio Jackson, Division Chair for the School of Liberal Arts and Instructor of History at Louisiana Delta Community College

Emily gives a definition of OER and talks about how and why LOUIS, a library consortium, does work in this area. Amelia and Chresancio talk about their experiences working in a cohort to create OER textbooks.

Then, Amelia and Chresancio talk about the work of creating an OER podcast, Learn with Podcasts: World Civilization 1, that was funded by a Louisiana Board of Regents eLearning Innovation Grant. That podcast can be heard on Spotify or YouTube.
