Deep in the woods of northern Georgia stood a gothic mansion built by two lovers looking for peace. What they found was horror.

In 1982, Dr. Charles Scudder and his partner Joseph Odom were brutally murdered in their secluded home—Corpsewood Manor. The crime shocked the rural Bible Belt, but the aftermath revealed even more: whispers of satanism, paranoia, drug use, and deep-seated homophobia. The killers claimed they were under a satanic influence. The truth, however, was far more rooted in ignorance, greed, and fear of queerness.

This episode dives into the mythology surrounding the case, separating fact from fiction while honoring the lives lost to hate and hysteria.
