A lovely musical geekout this week, as if the occasion was ever not needed, as Pip sits down with the axeman to go through a whole slew of goodness, from career beginnings right up to the present. So with that in mind, expect to hear it all including Serge’s love of film and how he sees music visually, a year off of Kasabian, working on his solo project The SLP and coming back to Kasabian refreshed, collab action with Little Simz, self perception, the excitement of equipment as a young’un right up to being not as young, working with Slowthai, the joy of motorway services (strong shouts to Westmoreland - I see you), the importance of changing up headspaces, the influence of David Byrne especially on live shows and setup, Celebrity Gogglebox, Mark Ronson, the internal voice when making decisions, how sports and music don’t need to be mutually exclusive, Brit-Pop and the induction of Oasis, his entirely understandable love of Warp Records, fearlessness of being on stage with Kasabian, unlocking doors to rooms of swagger, transformations into character on stage and how important the year 2016 was to Leicester football (and indeed the world).
