Being a princess is hard work. You're the best person in your whole kingdom, and yet you're somehow expected to set an example for the scum who live there, and occasionally military dictators will stride into your throne room and declare a military coup. Luckily for those situations, we have the Princess Protection Program, a secret service just for young, female royalty, who will spirit princesses away from dangerous conflict zones and force them to live in a stinking bait shack in a Louisiana swamp. Hooray!

This unlikely situation is where Princess Rosalinda (Demi Lovato) finds herself in 2009's Princess Protection Program, much to the chagrin of one of the bait shack's current occupants, Carter (Selena Gomez). However, as Rosalinda's exile continues, the two find themselves growing closer, and both of them start to realise the true meaning of being a princess: pop rock montages. Will Rosalinda be able to return to the kingdom of Costa Luna? Can Carter win the coveted title of Homecoming Queen? And why doesn't General Kane just strafe everyone involved with his F-16s?
