Newcastle have drawn 2-2 with Southampton. In truth it was another poor game from the Magpies - but they thought they'd won it with Allan Saint-Maximin scoring in the 91st minute only to see James Ward-Prowse finishing from the spot. It was another outing for VAR with Jamaal Lascelles, rightly, ruled to have fouled Adam Armstrong.The big talking point however were the chants aimed at Steve Bruce - 'we want Brucey out' and from a large section of the fan base. Aston Villa 2-0 NUFC - VAR grabs the headlines but Magpies lacked fight
Newcastle have lost two-nil to Aston Villa at Villa Park.Lee Ryder was down to take in the game and this is his verdict. Danny Ings scored a wondergoal just before HT to give Villa the leader.
