BPW Postgame Show: A look back at Bayern Munich’s glorious 5-0 victory over hapless Hertha Berlin
Bayern Munich hit Hertha for five in a standout performance for Jamal Musiala, who deservedly received a standing ovation for an outstanding performance. Julian Nagelsmann seems to know what he is doing; his players connected very well. He also made some timely substitutions to give his players enough rest.Robert Lewandowski bagged a hattrick; he manages to break his own records and make it seem easy. He is eerily consistent; I think Erling Haaland is still a level below Lewandowski (tsk tsk UEFA); Lewa is an intelligent player with years of experience under his belt. He is somehow still getting better. There was rain in Munich, but, for one, Bayern did not let the weather get in their way.Find any of the contributors on Twitter @BavarianFBWorks, @jeffersonfenner, @TheBarrelBlog, @TommyAdams71, and @bfwinnn.Learn more about your ad choices. Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Bayern Munich vs. Hertha Berlin
After downing FC Köln and Bremer SV, Bayern Munich steamrolling into this weekend’s Bundesliga tilt with Hertha Berlin. The Bavarians will play host to Die Alte Dame and should have some key players rested. Robert Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka did not even make the trip to Bremen for the DFB-Pokal match (and it is probably a good thing they were held back given the 12-0 final score), which could be dangerous for Hertha Berlin. Imagine facing Robert Lewandowski with fresh legs?Yikes.Things could get rough for Hertha Berlin. Anyway, here is what we have on tap: A quick look at the recent form of both sides. A guess at Julian Nagelsmann’s lineup for the match. A prediction on the game.Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Bayern Munich vs. Bremer SV in the DFB-Pokal
Bayern Munich will face off with Bremer SV in the DFB-Pokal in what should (hopefully) not be much of a battle. Even without Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka, Lucas Hernandez, and Kingsley Coman, the Bavarians should be able to take care of business in an efficient manner. Whatever the case, this actually could be an important match for a few players looking to showcase themselves. This is what we discuss: A look at who is in and who is out.An internal debate aired on whether this would be a back-three or back-four set-up.Why this match is important for players like Corentin Tolisso and Leroy Sane. The good chance we will see Bouna Sarr starting.A prediction on the match. Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann might just be toying with everyone when he has the club release his formations as a 4-2-3-1. We cover that and whole lot more on this episode of Bavarian Football Works. Here is the rundown of what we have on tap: The finer points of Bayern Munich’s win over FC Köln, the formation, and what went right and wrong during the match. How the wings stack up and who should be starting on the offensive flanks. What signing Marcel Sabitzer would mean and a look at how he might fit.
