Episode 022 | The Davenport Was Never Real

This week on Good Morning, We’re Dying, Alex hits the road solo(ish) and lands in Bloomington, Indiana — home of IU, eternal road construction, and apparently, cuck chair shortages. While Sam holds down the Michigan fort, Alex is joined by special guest and hilarious Bloomington comic Shanda Sung. Together, they spiral through an hour of chaotic delight covering everything from getting stranded on E to the existential toll of youth sports. Spoiler: It’s mostly just sitting in folding chairs and reconsidering your life choices.

Shanda shares the anxiety of comedy road trips where you're running late, running out of gas, and running through gas stations shouting "DO YOU TAKE APPLE PAY?" like a financially frantic action hero. Meanwhile, Alex relives his own parking lot panic and the luxurious amenity void known as a hotel without a cuck chair.

The duo then deep-dives into the madness of modern parenting — kids doing year-round baseball, moms hauling stadium chairs like survivalists, and the bleak hilarity of camping with children who think a hot shower and a working toilet are wilderness luxuries. Also: an alarming number of stories involving cane swords, knife guys, and grandparents who hoard couches like precious heirlooms.
