“Find a comfortable place to rest your body, and let your breathing settle into its own peaceful rhythm. As you listen to my voice, imagine a gentle light surrounding you—a presence that knows your heart and stands ready to defend you.

‘Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me’ (Psalm 35:1). You may sense that plea rising in your chest, as though the very walls around you are alive to your call for justice.

And remember the ancient council of the world’s oppressors: ‘They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones’ (Psalm 83:3). Even as they plot, you know that a higher wisdom outmaneuvers every scheme, for ‘That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JHVH, art the most high over all the earth’ (Psalm 83:18).

Now, imagine yourself nestled in a refuge of soft feathers, each one an echo of divine protection: ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty’ (Psalm 91:1). ‘He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust’ (Psalm 91:4).

And when the lies of slander threaten your name, recall the psalmist’s bold cry: ‘Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; for the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me’ (Psalm 109:1). In that moment of accusation, you steady yourself, knowing that even here, ‘I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude’ (Psalm 109:30).

You may now allow every word, every sacred promise, to anchor deep within your soul—transforming fear into courage, hurt into healing, shame into praise. As you carry this light forward, remember to read Psalm 51 whenever your heart needs the balm of forgiveness.

And each time you bow in prayer, let your final breath echo this closing plea: ‘Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy’… ‘For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell’ (Psalm 86).

May this ancient wisdom walk with you, defending, forgiving, and restoring ……now and always.”
