Rhodes To Law: Tarunabh Khaitan

Rhodes To Law: Tarunabh Khaitan

Rhodes to Law is a series that sheds a light on the career trajectories, personal stories and experiences of Rhodes Scholars who have gone on to attain distinction in the legal profession. We hope that this interview series will serve as a valuable and rich resource for those interested in the law generally and Rhodes Scholars, past present and future, considering a career in the law. Tarun Khaitan is Professor of Public Law & Legal Theory at Oxford University and the Hackney Fellow in Law at Wadham College. He helped draft the Indian Anti-Discrimination and Equality Bill 2017. His research on discrimination law has been quoted and relied upon by the Indian Supreme Court. He writes regularly for newspapers and blogs and in 2018, was awarded the Letten Prize, a 2 Million Norwegian Kroner award given biennially to a young researcher under the age of 45 conducting excellent research of great social relevance. He is using a part of the award towards setting up the Indian Equality Law Programme, aimed at capacity-building for early career scholars.
