Episode 53: Nigeria vs Ghana World Cup qualifier preview & Osimhen bags consecutive braces for Napoli

The international window is here again as the final spots for the 2022 World Cup get finalised over the next fortnight with Nigeria vying for a place against our West African rivals Ghana. I previewed the 1st leg on the episode which takes place on Friday March 25th at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi including predicting our anticipated starting XI & the key questions ahead of the crunch tie

Key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will be missing from the tie after sustaining a knee injury in Leicester’s 2nd leg UEFA Conference leg Round of 16 tie against Rennes on Thursday and he’s been replaced in the squad by Lorient midfielder Innocent Bonke

I also ran through how our Super Eagles players performed in the top European leagues including Victor Osimhen scoring consecutive braces for Napoli over the past fortnight in respective 2-1 wins over Verona away & Udinese at home to take his league tally to 11 for the season while keeping Napoli firmly in the title race with 9 games to go

In England, Alex Iwobi scored a last minute winner on Thursday for Everton in their crucial 1-0 win over Newcastle to keep them out of the relegation zone while Cyriel Dessers has continued his excellent form in Netherlands with 4 goals and 2 assists in his past 5 games for Feyenoord

In Denmark, Akinkunmi Amoo scored his 1st goal for FC Copenhagen in his 1st start for the league leaders in a 1-0 win over FC Nordsjaelland over the weekend to move 21 points clear at the top of the table
