Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Bayern Munich 4-0 Wolfsburg (Hinrunde)

Another game, another three points for Bayern Munich as the Bavarians crushed Wolfsburg 4-0 in a dominant showing that might have been more about how hapless the Wolves were instead of how impressive the home team was.Thomas Müller’s early goal seemed to deflate Wolfsburg and things did not improve for Florian Kohfeldt’s side. Clearly, the Wolves have A LOT of work to do if they want to save their season. Here is what we have on tap:A recap of the match.Bayern Munich’s dominance and Wolfsburg toothless play made for no contest. The Nagelsmann Effect.Müller continues his excellent season.Thankfully Robert Lewandowski scored or he might have exploded (this is a running theme). As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — VfB Stuttgart 0-5 Bayern Munich (Hinrunde)

Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — VfB Stuttgart 0-5 Bayern Munich (Hinrunde)

It was a workmanlike effort from Bayern Munich in defeating VfB Stuttgart 5-0.The Bavarians were, perhaps, a bit lucky at times but used a few strong individual performances to carry the day. Here is what we have on tap: A recap of the match.A choppy start on a bad pitch and an aversion to using the central midfield in the build-up.The unfortunate injury to Kingsley Coman. A magnificent performance from Niklas Süle, who just locked down anyone near him.Serge Gnabry’s revival and why it was important for the Germany international to have a strong showing. The need for a strong performance on Friday against Wolfsburg. As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Special Edition — Champions League Round of 16 Draw Reaction (+ Stuttgart Preview)

After much huffing and puffing from UEFA, the Champions League Round of 16 draw is finally over, and Bayern Munich will definitely face RB Salzburg in the next round. This particular draw was rather eventful and had tonnes of controversy — at first, Bayern drew Atletico Madrid after all. Anyway, we just had to discuss all of that in an immediate reaction show. Please enjoy. Here are our talking points from the draw:INNN flounders trying to figure out what Salzburg are and how they might stack up.Schnitzel explains some of the important players at the Austrian club and how they’ve fared this season.A debate about Bayern target Karim Adeyemi — is he actually good, or just overhyped?Relief that we don’t actually have to face Atletico Madrid.Clowning UEFA for their botched draw.A review of the rest of the Round of 16 fixtures, including our picks for who will go through and why.INNN and Schnitzel disagree on their favorites for the Champions League. We move onto a preview for the game against Stuttgart, where INNN and Schnitzel disagree completely on Nagelsmann’s tactics.Seriously, if you want both sides of the argument, listen to this pod.As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Bayern Munich 2-1 Mainz

Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Bayern Munich 2-1 Mainz

Now that just felt like a roller coaster ride, but one right after you’ve had a heavy lunch. Bayern Munich’s performance against Mainz was unimpressive, workmanlike and had a lot of heart-in-the-mouth moments, but the hosts edged out with a 2-1 victory thanks to some individual brilliance and a momentary turn of the tide in the second half. Mainz were fantastic, and made Bayern Munich fight hard to earn the win. The defense was particularly stellar, with Alexander Hack and Moussa Niakhate being the showrunners. Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala both scored a great goal each and ensured Bayern won at home. This win means that Bayern go 6 points clear of Dortmund at the top of the table, which is a comfortable cushion heading into the last couple of games of the hinrunde. Here are the major talking points of this podcast:Mainz’s sustained pressure and organized pressBayern Munich’s defensive blushesSuper suspect defendingNonexistent midfield and underperforming wingsMusiala’s role and what Nagelsmann needs to sort outKey players for each sideLearn more about your ad choices. Bavarian Podcast Works: Preview Show — Bayern Munich vs Mainz 05 (Hinrunde)

Bayern Munich is playing its third game since last Saturday and after two HUGE victories, it would be easy to think that the Bavarians could be primed for a letdown. With so many key players out and a huge dissing of its star player via the Ballon d’Or mess, the Bavarians might just be playing with a chip on their collective shoulder. Hopefully for Bayern Munich fans, that is the case. Here is what we have on tap: A look at where each team is in the table. An acknowledgement that Germany U-21 star Jonathan Burkardt deserves Bayern Munch’s full attention. A guess at Julian Nagelsmann’s line-up.A prediction on the match. As always, thanks for your support and let us know what you think!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Podcast Season 1, Episode 28 — A reflection on Bayern Munich’s dismantling of FC Barcelona; Thoughts on Joshua Kimmich; Rumors could affect Bayern Munich’s backline for the future; It’s Always Sunny talk; and MORE!

Bayern Munich had another big week. After a somewhat controversial victory over Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker, the Bavarians took on FC Barcelona in the Champions League — and subsequently sent the Catalans packing to the Europa League. While that was the big news of the week, we’ve got even more on tap:A look at the fallout from Bayern Munich’s big victory over FC Barcelona.Joshua Kimmich is struggling with the after-effects of his bout with COVID-19, so maybe people should lay off hammering him and hope he feels better soon. Some thoughts on the rumored pursuit of Nico Schlotterbeck and what that might mean for Bayern Munich’s existing core of defenders on the roster — and out on loan.A quick take on the new season of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and what other comedies always make me laugh out loud one or more times per episode.  Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Bayern Munich 3-0 Barcelona (Champions League)

The group stage of the Champions League is over, and Bayern Munich have come out of it with a perfect record. 6/6 wins, 22 goals scored, only 3 conceded. Barcelona are, meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum — even with a new coach in Xavi, they find themselves haplessly knocked down into the inferior cup competition because they simply did not have the quality to stand toe to toe with the Bavarians. Here are our talking points from the game:A quick look at the lineups of both sides, including some points on the nuances of Xavi’s setup, including his use of Dembele, Araujo, and Sergino Dest. How the game went — basic recap including the game state and the feel of the goals. Why Barcelona didn’t manage to capitalize on their decent start. How Benjamin Pavard and the Bayern defense actually had a GOOD game for a change!A quick recap of the Bayern midfield, focusing on the performances of Jamal Musiala and Corentin Tolisso. Can this pivot be an option going forward?A complaint on the nature of Bayern’s attack at the moment — too much emphasis on individual brilliance, and far too little use of Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller.Closing thoughts on the game and the outro. As always, we love your feedback and appreciate all the support!Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany.
