In conversation with Scott Tingley

Justin and Pete have a chat with head groundsman Scott Tingley whilst looking over the splendid playing surface at Vicarage Road. We find out about his introductions to sports surface preparation, football and Heurelho Gomes!!! We talk about why the pitch is dug up in May when it still looks great, not knowing the cost of a bag of fertiliser once but now researching silicon grass couplets, intercontinental awards, why dogs and robots aren't always compatible, bee hives and a variety of vegetables, the patterns on the pitch plus sunlight (artificial or otherwise) and the amazing wider grounds team at both the Vic and the training ground!! Scott was great fun and clearly, along with his team, take massive pride in the job they do and the output of their work!! COYH!!
