58: How One Dance Class at 16 Changed Her Life Forever | Denise Aversa

58: How One Dance Class at 16 Changed Her Life Forever | Denise Aversa

Denise shares her journey from a curious 16-year-old walking into a salsa class for the first time, to building one of the most inclusive dance communities in Windsor. Guided by a mentor who shaped her values and vision, Denise turned dance into more than just movement—it became a safe haven for self-expression, connection, and healing. She opens up about building her studio from scratch after moving cities and becoming a mother, the challenges of entrepreneurship, and the power of teaching beginners to believe in themselves. With honesty and grace, Denise reminds us that dance isn’t just about steps—it’s about creating belonging.

If you’ve ever wanted to explore dance as a hobby or even something to try with a friend or your significant other, come on out to AoD’s Open House. Aug 25 - 28.

One week filled with 10 FREE classes for first time dancers and beginners. We’ll have both studios open for you to explore and discover why AoD is everyone’s fun, safe and supportive space to learn the Art of Dance: www.artofdance.ca

Feel free to reach out to Denise personally at email info@artofdance.ca to inquire about classes, lessons and performances.
