Robert Wagner knew he was living on borrowed time. Just weeks before his brutal murder, he confided in a family member that he had three weeks to live. He didn’t say who was after him. He didn’t say why. But he was certain—his days were numbered.

On January 22, 1991, Wagner’s body was found inside his Cambridge, Ontario apartment. Stabbed multiple times, his murder was vicious, personal, and unsolved to this day. Police believed the 31-year-old welder had a dangerous secret—a double life that may have gotten him killed.

Three months after his death, investigators revealed that Wagner had been selling small amounts of hashish and cocaine on the side. Their theory? He was murdered by a customer.

But his family has never been convinced.
