The MacVoices Live! panel of David Ginsburg, Jeff Gamet, Jim Rea, and Andrew Orr is joined by Mark Fuccio and Brittany Smith to answer listener questions about how we refer to our smart assistants. Why we use nicknames such as "S-Lady" for Siri, "A-Lady" for Alexa, etc.. Do we really need to be careful? Are we being sexist by using the female gender, and why do we do it? We enlist the help of the chat room to answer at least some of these questions. Why (doesn't) or does voice recognition kick in and prevent unintentional triggering How and why do we we anthropomorphizing the smart assistants? (Part 2)
