We broke up — Part one

On September 23rd, Emma sat down to record something she has never done before — a time-capsule episode. Her relationship with Mr. Right began to feel shaky so instead of waiting until the seemingly inevitable happened to talk about it, she recorded a digital diary entry in real time that she would only release when there was a conclusion to the uncertainty and what might become either her engagement announcement… or her breakup story. And today is that day.

After two years with “Mr. Right,” talk of rings, proposals, and building a family suddenly takes a turn that forced Emma to confront one of life’s hardest emotional paradoxes: when someone says I love you, but I’m not ready. From naming the abandonment wound and the self-sabotage itch to the nervous system spiral that happens when “not yet” sounds a lot like “not you” — this is the beginning of the end and Emma is taking you with her.

Watch the full video episode on YouTube and tune into Part Two to hear how what she thought was the perfect relationship unraveled.
