Hello and welcome back to Talk With Becky.

On today’s episode, I sit down with Obed Mambwe, a seasoned Sign Language Interpreter with over 16 years of experience and a passionate advocate for Deaf inclusion and neurodiversity awareness.

Obed currently serves as the Acting Head of the Sign Language Interpreters’ Department at ZNBC, where he leads a team of interpreters and works to promote equal access to communication for the Deaf community.

He is also the Founder and President of the Federation of Sign Language Interpreters and Translators of Zambia (FSLITZ) and previously served as the African Regional Representative on the World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI) Board.

Beyond his professional journey, Obed is deeply passionate about mental health and neurodiversity, drawing from his own experience of living with ADHD. He continues to advocate for children with ADHD, Autism, and deafness, as well as their parents and caregivers.

His story is one of resilience, purpose, and service.

Today on Talk With Becky, we dive deeper into his journey, his advocacy work, and what it truly means to live and thrive with ADHD.
