Lauren Agee was a 21-year-old college student whose death in July 2015 remains a mystery. She was attending WakeFest, a wakeboarding festival at Center Hill Lake in Tennessee, with friends. Her body was discovered in the lake by fishermen after she had been camping on a cliff near the festival. David Emery Misch started getting into trouble at just 16 years old and was in and out of prison in California for various crimes throughout his 20s. In 1989, he was caught and convicted for the murder of Margaret Ball. Little did investigators know, Misch had committed at least 3 other murders prior to this between jail sentences - but it took decades before he was connected to those cases with DNA evidence. In 2024, he was convicted of the double murder of Michelle Xavier and Jennifer Duey from 1986. And now, Misch is awaiting trial for the 1988 abduction and murder of Michaela Garecht. Audrey May Herron was a 31-year-old nurse and mother of three who disappeared on August 29, 2002, in Catskill, New York. She was last seen leaving her workplace, the Columbia-Greene Long Term Care Facility, after her evening shift. Audrey was driving her black 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which also vanished without a trace. Despite extensive searches and investigations, her case remains unsolved. Michaela Garecht was enjoying the start to her Thanksgiving break in November 1988 when she and her best friend rode their scooters to the market in Hayward, California. As they left, the 9 year old girls noticed that Michaela’s scooter was not at the entrance, but had been moved to the parking lot. As she went to grab her scooter, a man jumped out of the van next to her and in one fell swoop, threw her into the van and drove off. Unfortunately, Michaela has never been found, but after over three decades as a cold case, in 2020 a man was charged with her murder. David Misch, a convicted murderer, is awaiting trial for Michaela’s abduction and murder and hopefully soon, she will get the justice she deserves. Gage Jackson was a 19-year-old from Punta Gorda, Florida, who was reported missing in March 2019. Eleven days later, his body was discovered in Prairie Creek by fishermen.  Despite years of investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with his death. Authorities believe that individuals close to Gage may have critical information but have not come forward. A reward for information leading to an arrest has grown significantly over the years, reflecting the community's determination to seek justice. Jody Fern Howard disappeared on October 7, 1991, from a gas station in Wolf Point, Montana, located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. She was 28 years old at the time and a member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes. Her case remains unsolved, and she was not reported missing until November 10, 1991, over a month later. Jody’s disappearance is one of many unresolved missing person cases in Montana, highlighting the broader issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women in the United States. Something has to change…. She went missing on January 27, 2025, from a group home in Mesa, Arizona. Her dismembered remains were discovered on February 14, 2025, near Highway 60 in the Tonto National Forest, northeast of Globe, Arizona. Emily's case has drawn some attention to the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), highlighting the systemic issues that disproportionately affect Indigenous communities.
