The team attempts to track Ronnie's whereabouts after he injures a scientist. Knowing that Dr. Martin Stein is in control of Ronnie's body, they use his wife to talk Stein/Ronnie into coming back to the lab for testing. Meanwhile, Joe enlists Cisco's help to identify who murdered Barry's mother. Cisco discovers an old mirror left in the former Allen home that captured images from the night of the murder, and Joe finds blood from two people behind some new wallpaper, one of whom was likely the killer. Joe asks Cisco to compare the blood to Dr. Wells', but Cisco refuses to believe Dr. Wells is involved. Dr. Wells discovers that Ronnie and Dr. Stein's atoms are in conflict, and if it continues they will become nuclear. Dr. Wells determines that the tachyon device recharging his speed could be converted to a quantum splicer to stabilize Ronnie's body and separate the two personalities. Dr. Snow uses the device; Ronnie's body still goes nuclear, but safely away from the city. The explosion alerts General Eiling, who orders a team to recover F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. Cisco runs the blood samples and informs Joe that while neither is from Dr. Wells, one is from an adult Barry.

When The New 52 rebooted the DC Universe back in 2011, that meant pretty much every DC comic book character got a new costume. A large portion of the Justice League – including Batman, Superman, and The Flash – received similar updates (courtesy of Jim Lee). They all vaguely resembled the old costumes, of course – Superman with his reds and blues, Batman with his grays and blacks, and The Flash with his yellows and reds – but the new ones all looked armored and had similarly intricate line work.

When Gerald Crane targets another victim, James Gordon and Harvey Bullock investigate his background and discover that he was a biology teacher whose wife died in a fire accident that he was too scared to rescue her from. Believing that fear is a human flaw, he harvested adrenal glands in order to use them to create a fear serum that makes people see their greatest fears, hoping that it will help them face and overcome them. James and Harvey track him down to his house, where after injecting his son Jonathan with the fear serum is killed in a gunfight. Jonathan is rushed to the hospital afterwards, where the doctor says that due to the amount of serum injected into him, he will always be seeing his greatest fear, which in his case are scarecrows. Meanwhile, Fish Mooney is abducted and taken to a rowdy prison-like area by unknown assailants. She kills the leader of the prisoners and then takes his place.

Yesterday we saw what the power looks like in action when DC revealed apiece of art from this week's Superman #38 by writer Geoff Johns and artist John Romita, Jr, but we'll have to wait until tomorrow to get the full context of how Superman gets this power and what it does. Superman gets his powers from Earth's yellow sun, making him a giant solar battery, so perhaps when he uses Super Flare he expels that stored up energy in the form of a giant blast. We'll know for sure tomorrow. The infographic catalogues all of Superman's powers and when he first used them in the comics, from super-speed all the way up to heat vision and now the new Super Flare. Superman has had a wide array of weird new powers over the years, but the infographic features just the iconic ones that have stuck. In addition to the new power, a new costume for the Man of Steel has also been teased for tomorrow's issue of Superman. These two changes are coming about in the finale of the Men of Tomorrow arc, which sees Superman battling a super-human named Ulysses.

MALCOLM MAKES AN OFFER TO HELP TEAM ARROW — Still operating without Oliver (Stephen Amell) and desperate to stop Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones), Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy (Colton Haynes) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm’s descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife. Tatsu informs Oliver that his will to live and the cold temperature of the mountain are the only reason he survived. Oliver warns Maseo that Ra's will see his act as a betrayal and kill him for it. While Oliver attempts to rest and heal, members of the League arrive which forces Maseo and Tatsu to kill them to protect Oliver. Maseo cuts himself so Ra's will believe Oliver escaped. Roy and Diggle warn Laurel to stay off the streets, after Roy has to bail her out of a fight. Brick kidnaps the city's aldermen, but when Laurel and Roy track them down Brick escapes and kills one of the aldermen in retaliation. In exchange for the remaining aldermen, Brick demands that all police presence evacuate the Glades for good. The team is able to locate the aldermen and successfully rescue them, but the Mayor still agrees to remove the police after Brick reveals that he has targeted every legislative body member. Meanwhile, Felicity rejoins the team and provides Ray with the missing piece for his A.T.O.M. exo-suit. Chase, the DJ for Verdant, is revealed to be a spy for the League, who informs Maseo that Merlyn has chosen not to leave Starling. In flashbacks, Maseo makes a deal with China White to give her the counterpart to her virus in exchange for Tatsu.

The first villains the Batman ever had to fight in Gotham City were naturally the local organized crime syndicates, set in place long before himself. Gotham City is one of the most notorious cities in America for both crime and corruption, and as such has some of the toughest and most relentless mobsters.

Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) decides that she and Barry (Grant Gustin) need to move on from Ronnie (guest star Robbie Amell) and Iris (Candice Patton) and find new loves so she takes him for a night out at the local karaoke bar. Caitlin doesn‘t have any luck making a love connection but Barry meets Linda Park (guest star Malese Jow), a sports reporter for the Central City Picture News, and asks her out on a date. When Barry tells Iris he has a date, Iris is surprised by her reaction. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Ramon) considers Hartley‘s (guest star Andy Mientus) dangerous offer and the team searches for Shawna (guest star Britne Oldford), a meta-human with teleportation powers, who just busted her boyfriend Clay (guest star Micah Parker) out of Iron Heights. When Henry (guest star John Wesley Shipps) snoops around in an attempt to help Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Barry solve the crime, he ends up in the infirmary after getting roughed up by inmates.
