Are you a Duck or an Eagle? | Life Lessons from a Taxi Driver | Inspirational Story by Simerjeet Singh

JK Rowling once wrote, “It’s our choices that show what we truly are far more than our abilities.” One significant choice that impacts everything else is: will we expend our energy complaining or invest in building something great? TeamSJS is pleased to present our next motivational episode in the Stories That Move Series. Are you an Eagle or a Duck? When it comes to success, there are two schools of thought. The Invitation - A Life Changing Poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer | Read by Simerjeet Singh

The Invitation - A Life Changing Poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer | Read by Simerjeet Singh

Our next poem in the Poetry That Inspires series will inspire you to "show up" in the world - to become the best version of yourselves by embracing your power, creativity, and unique gifts. This Inspirational Poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer titled 'The Invitation' calls to look beyond the superficial in yourself and others and honor the strength and beauty within. We all need to show up by accepting who we are or through our act of creating something beautiful. The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love for your dream for the adventure of being alive. It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon... I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain mine or your own without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy mine or your own if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful to be realistic to remember the limitations of being human. It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy. I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence. I want to know if you can live with failure yours and mine and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes." It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children. It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back. It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments. The Stick-Together Families - A Heart Touching Poem by Edgar Guest | Family Time | Read by Simerjeet Singh

The Stick-Together Families - A Heart Touching Poem by Edgar Guest | Family Time | Read by Simerjeet Singh

The Stick-Together Families is a poem written by people's poet Edgar Albert Guest. It tells the story of a family struggling with the problems of everyday life, but always there for one another. "A family is like a tree: when the roots grow, the branches grow too." This poem teaches us to live together in peace and love. It reinforces the message that we need to do good for our family and community. The Stick-Together Families The stick-together families are happier by far Than the brothers and the sisters who take separate highways are. The gladdest people living are the wholesome folks who make A circle at the fireside that no power but death can break. And the finest of conventions ever held beneath the sun Are the little family gatherings when the busy day is done. There are rich folk, there are poor folk, who imagine they are wise, And they're very quick to shatter all the little family ties. Each goes searching after pleasure in his own selected way, Each with strangers likes to wander, and with strangers likes to play. But it's bitterness they harvest, and it's empty joy they find, For the children that are wisest are the stick-together kind. There are some who seem to fancy that for gladness they must roam, That for smiles that are the brightest they must wander far from home. That the strange friend is the true friend, and they travel far astray they waste their lives in striving for a joy that's far away, But the gladdest sort of people, when the busy day is done, Are the brothers and the sisters who together share their fun. It's the stick-together family that wins the joys of earth, That hears the sweetest music and that finds the finest mirth; It's the old home roof that shelters all the charm that life can give; There you find the gladdest play-ground, there the happiest spot to live. And, O weary, wandering brother, if contentment you would win, Come you back unto the fireside and be comrade with your kin. ― Edgar Albert Guest Watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/zPPTMQjyYmk #FamilyTime #PoetryThatInspires #SimerjeetSinghPoems #PoemOfTheDay #EdgarAlbertGuest #SimerjeetSingh #InspirationalPoem #InspirationalPoetry #MotivationalPoem #MotivationalPoetry #FamilyPoem Follow us on: https://linktr.ee/SimerjeetSingh

This is a recording of Douglas Malloch's powerful poem "It's Fine Today" read by Simerjeet Singh. It's Fine Today “Sure, this world is full of trouble I ain't said it ain't. Lord, I've had enough and double Reason for complaint; Rain and storm have come to fret me, Skies are often gray; Thorns and brambles have beset me On the road — but say, Ain't it fine today? What's the use of always weepin', Making trouble last? What's the use of always keepin' Thinkin' of the past? Each must have his tribulation — Water with his wine; Life, it ain't no celebration, Trouble? — I've had mine — But today is fine! It's today that I am livin', Not a month ago. Havin'; losin'; takin'; givin'; As time wills it so. Yesterday a cloud of sorrow Fell across the way, It may rain again tomorrow, It may rain — but say, Ain't it fine today? ~ Douglas Malloch Watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/VrL9f66vSFc #PoetryThatInspires #SimerjeetSinghPoems #PoemOfTheDay #SimerjeetSingh #InspirationalPoem #InspirationalPoetry #MotivationalPoem Follow us on: https://linktr.ee/SimerjeetSingh

Fear by Kahlil Gibran - A Life Changing Poem on Overcoming Limiting Beliefs | Read by Simerjeet Singh

Fear by Kahlil Gibran - A Life Changing Poem on Overcoming Limiting Beliefs | Read by Simerjeet Singh

Fear - An Inspirational Poem by Kahlil Gibran on Overcoming Fear, also quite popular as The River Cannot Go Back. It’s so easy to talk up the end product which is seen as 'the finished product,' but don’t forget how hard it can be to let go of our comfort zones. After all, that journey is what provides that sense of accomplishment when we challenge ourselves and rise to meet new challenges. Our next poem in the Poetry That Inspires series is by Lebanese-American poet Kahlil Gibran titled 'FEAR.' Take a moment and let the power of this poem sink in. You have to loosen your grip on your expectations of who you are so that you might become who you were always meant to be. Turn your ideals upside down and release the fears that hold you back. This is because what you can find on the other end of uncertainty can be really rewarding. Kahlil Gibran on Fear It is said that before entering the sea a river trembles with fear. She looks back at the path she has traveled, from the peaks of the mountains, the long winding road crossing forests and villages. And in front of her, she sees an ocean so vast, that to enter there seems nothing more than to disappear forever. But there is no other way. The river can not go back. Nobody can go back. To go back is impossible in existence. The river needs to take the risk of entering the ocean| because only then will fear disappear, because that’s where the river will know it’s not about disappearing into the ocean, but of becoming the ocean. ~ Khalil Gibran Watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/I6XFrhJPHxg #Fear #PoetryThatInspires #SimerjeetSinghPoems #KahlilGibran #OvercomeFear #SimerjeetSingh #InspirationalPoem #InspirationalPoetry\ Follow us on: https://linktr.ee/SimerjeetSingh
