Hi guys, welcome back to the podcast. If you liked the podcast, don't forget to like, review, comment, and subscribe! Check out the blog here - https://ischoolconnect.com/blog/coronavirus-impact-on-tests-like-gre-gmat-ielts-toefl/ You can visit our website at www.ischoolconnect.com for detailed assistance. It feels like the Coronavirus pandemic has put the world on pause and Coronavirus’s impact on tests worldwide is immense. With all exams getting canceled or postponed, organizations like ETS have found new ways to conduct at-home tests. Standardized entrance exams such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. are important qualifying parts of a student’s admission profile. However, the scary events happening globally indicate that the Coronavirus’ impact on tests worldwide is also drastic. Due to Coronavirus, governments have enacted strict laws that have led to these exams being either postponed or canceled altogether. To find a new way around that, organizations such as the GMAC(conducts the GMAT exam) and ETS (conducts the TOEFL and GRE exams), and British Council (conducts IELTS) have come up with unique technologies that will help students take these tests at-home. Listen to the latest news about entrance exams for current and prospective study abroad applicants: GMAT : In light of the recent events, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has come up with a temporary testing solution. They are conducting the ‘Interim GMAT™ Exam’ which will allow students to take their exams from home. The format of this temporary GMAT exam will be different than the usual GMAT syllabus. The exam will have the Quantitative, Verbal, and Integrated Reasoning sections. However, it will not have the Analytical Writing Analysis which requires an essay assessment by an authority. You can book your slots for this MBA-qualifying test from April 20, 2020, until June 15, 2020. GRE and TOEFL : Slowly and surely ETS is organizing ‘at-home’ GRE and TOEFL tests for students in Coronavirus affected countries worldwide. These ‘at-home tests’ will be administered and monitored by live human remote representatives and the online registration opened on Monday, March 23, 2020. The GRE computer-delivered test and TOEFL iBT can be taken at home in all the countries they were available in, except Mainland China and Iran. ETS declared that they are constantly working towards bringing these tests in Iran and Mainland China while also ensuring that they run smoothly in all countries worldwide. IELTS : The IELTS Indicator is the online test that assesses a student’s English language skills. This test will be held online in selective locations worldwide once a week, at scheduled times. It will still analyze all the 4 sections: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. The bookings for this will open on 22 April 2020. That is all for now folks. How to choose a career? | "5" amazing tips on choosing the right career path | iSchoolConnect

How to choose a career? | "5" amazing tips on choosing the right career path | iSchoolConnect

Hi guys, welcome back to the podcast. As a professional, there are many instances where you are faced with a multitude of tasks at your workplace. However, what keeps you going in those moments is highly dependent on how much you love what you do. To help you choose the best career path, we’ve compiled these questions in 5 main points. 1. Understand where your interests lie - When faced with the challenge of how to choose a career for yourself, the first factor you should consider is what interests you. The right thing to do would be to take an inventory of the things that appeal to you most in terms of work. Ask yourself questions such as - What are my hobbies? Which are the activities that I'll miss most if I stop doing them? What can I do without getting tired easily? Coding? Going through ads? Dancing? Do I prefer working indoors or would love to be on the go at all times? 2. Let your skills set you apart - Everyone has abilities and activities that they’re good at. So the question is: what are you good at? This is one of the most important tips on how to choose your career. Find out what your talents are from childhood and the ones you’ve learned over time. 3. Capitalize on your strengths - Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. Discover the things that make you unique and most likely to help you succeed in a particular career path. It could be your ability to coach people, great interpersonal skills, excellence at research, or something else altogether. 4. Discover what you want - In trying to answer the “what career is right for me” question you must be sure of whom you really are by understanding your personality. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Are you self motivated or do you need others to motivate you? Whether you’re a thinker or an action taker? These and many more are some of the questions you must answer before you make that career decision. 5. Explore your options - After you’ve assessed yourself with these 4 points, the only thing left to do is decide on the actual profession you’re going to choose. Find occupations that align with everything you’ve just learned about yourself. Create a list of these professions based on the basic information and think if they offer you all you want.
