Why don't narcissists let people get close to them?
It's extremely difficult to get close to a narcissist. When I say "close" I don't mean physical closeness, I'm referring to emotional closeness. A lot of narcissistic people have a fear of letting people get emotionally close to them for a few different reasons. I go over a few in detail in the video but 1 of the main reasons is fear. Abject fear that if you get too close to me, then you will be able to hurt me in some way. They may think or feel this way because something happened to them in their youth that may them no longer trust people to get close to them. Welcome my channel! Some narcissists will let you know what you are getting yourself into
"You knew what you were getting yourself into" is a phrase that some narcissists will use on you. They use this because some of them will let you know their problems upfront. They will tell you about their battles with law or drugs or alcohol or things like that. When the issues arise again they will let you know that they told you who they were upfront and say you should know what they are getting into. Welcome my channel! Why the beginning of a relationship with a narcissist is normally the best part
The best part of a toxic relationship is normally the beginning. Toxic relationships with narcissists go in reverse, where it isn't building up together it actually starts off on a peak. Most of the good things are loaded up at the beginning and things move extremely fast as well. I tell this to people all the time that when you leave the PEAK, it will never ever be the same again. What happens to narcissists in the end?
