I’m Not Watching This, Gerald

I’m Not Watching This, Gerald

The mood was good... and then Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen happened. David Mooney is joined by Paul Hirst from The Times and, from the City Ramble podcast, Amos Murphy to try and work out what on earth went wrong this week.
Pep Guardiola made ten changes to the team for the Champions League and the performance was pretty disjoined... He admitted afterwards it might have been a misstep, but did he also not get much help from the players he gave opportunities to?
Then there was the VAR decisions at St James's Park that ignored a potential penalty on Phil Foden and that caused anger with an offside in the build-up to the winning goal.
With Leeds and Fulham to come, we also hear from Calum Archibald who contributes to the Leeds website The Square Ball and from Sammy James who is part of the Fulhamish podcast.

Adam Carter from StatCity.co.uk looks back over City's other 6-1 wins in the Premier League, while Chris Higginbottom pens a letter of complaint to PGMOL about City's historic officiating complaints. Rich Kids Complaining About Old iPhones

David Mooney looks back over Manchester City's victories against Brighton and Young Boys, with the help of City fan Adam Keyworth and Brazilian journalist in Manchester, Fred Caldeira. They look at Doku's involvement, Grealish's return to first team action properly after injury, and how Foden can influence proceedings in the coming weeks. Former City goalkeeper Andy Dibble speaks to the show about his time at Maine Road, including his memories of one rather infamous incident at Nottingham Forest. There's also a preview of the coming Manchester Derby, including a discussion about the ridiculous narrative that's been set off the pitch this week. ========== To get bonus podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/BlueMoonPodcast

Positively Negative and Negatively Positive

Positively Negative and Negatively Positive

After Manchester City's unfortunate defeat at Arsenal, David Mooney is joined by City fans Richard Burns and Sam Roscoe to discuss the talking points... Life without Rodri is hard, Kovacic is a very lucky boy, and the approach to the game might not have been the worst thing in the world (until viewed after the loss). Also on the show, we're taking a look at goalkeepers who weren't where you'd expect them to be. Sam's been focusing on the times outfielders have ended up between the sticks and the times when goalies have been let loose outfield. With the Etihad announced as one of the venues for Euro 2028, we'll look at some of the international games played on that ground already - plus we take some time to look at City matches that were abandoned and the best entrance music for the team. ========== To get bonus podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/BlueMoonPodcast

Detective Dog

Detective Dog

After a defeat at Wolves and a win at RB Leipzig, David Mooney is joined by Adam Carter from StatCity.co.uk and Dom Farrell from Sporting News to discuss the major talking points. They focus on Rico Lewis after his excellent midweek performance and there's a look at how City can solve the Rodri problem. Does City's set-up change dramatically with a difference in players available? We discuss ball-carrying players vs. controlling players - and we look at how injuries and suspensions have forced Guardiola's hand on that in the last week. Is City's squad too small? We look into that, too, as the manager has been speaking about that - and that leads us into previewing the upcoming tie with Arsenal. How will City look to get the better of the Gunners. The writer and football historian, Gary James, is also on the show, as we pay tribute to the City legend Francis Lee, who died this week. ========== To get bonus podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/BlueMoonPodcast

After an eventful week, David Mooney is joined by City fans Richard Burns and Dan Burke to discuss the victory over Nottingham Forest and the defeat in the Carabao Cup to Newcastle. Adam Carter from StatCity.co.uk, Niall Taylor, who runs Retro City Goals on Instagram and City fan Ciaran Murray discuss their favourites. Dave Azzopardi from Talking Wolves also joins the show to give us insight into this weekend's opposition. ========== To get bonus podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/BlueMoonPodcast

Who Wants an Ice Cream at 7pm?

Following back-to-back 3-1 victories, as Manchester City came back to beat both West Ham and Red Star Belgrade, David Mooney is joined by City fan Adam Monk and the Manchester Evening News Chief City Writer, Simon Bajkowski, to discuss the games. They focus on the newfound shape of the side and the impact it's had on the performances of Julian Alvarez and Rodri, plus how Jeremy Doku is settling in on the flanks. Ederson made some big saves this week, so we look at his improvement - while City fan and journalist Dan Burke heads on a trip down Memory Lane to 2001-02 and the influence of Ali Benarbia in Kevin Keegan's midfield. Nottingham Forest fan and journalist Daniel Storey gives us some insight into Saturday's opposition, while we also preview the Carabao Cup tie at Newcastle. ========== To get bonus podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon: http://www.patreon.com/BlueMoonPodcast
