Firefighters are extreme athletes. Maybe the most extreme. From a cardiovascular perspective at least. No one else has to go from zero to 60 and back to zero again more than firefighters. And despite that they might be the worst prepared for it out of anybody. There’s always those guys that drink like they're fish and eat like there’s no tomorrow. And sometimes they end up being right. Rob’s guest this episode wants to change that. Rob Brown (@Fdnyheart) is a firefighter, a Physician Assistant and the founder of New York Firefighters Heart & Lung in 2002. He is also a Lieutenant with The New York City Fire Department and has been active since 1996. He has been in the Fire Service since 1992 starting out with the Glenwood Fire Department in Long Island, NY. He’s an author, an activist and he’s a helper. His organization has sponsored many different FDNY charities over the years donating more than $100,000 to FDNY charities. He sounds off on a lot of health-related issues, from cancer to COVID.
