Ghislaine Maxwell appeared for a congressional deposition today and immediately invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, refusing to answer substantive questions from lawmakers. According to members of Congress, Maxwell delivered a brief, prepared statement at the outset and then systematically declined to respond to questions about Jeffrey Epstein’s operations, potential co-conspirators, powerful associates, or her own role in facilitating abuse.
