Solveig has put together a panel consisting of the count of live electronics and sound art adventurer Bern Isak Wærstad, music researcher, multi-instrumentalist and polyglot Tejaswinee Kelkar, and author, artist and researcher in musicology Marek Susdorf. The episode was recorded in front of an audience at Blå - Oslo's most active nightclub and music venue primarily for alternative and club music. The show was part of Musikkfest 2021. It will later be broadcasted at radiOrakel too. The episode is in English, with a short Norwegian introduction after the "tempo-wonky" jingle! More about the guests: Bernt Isak Wærstad is a musician, sound and multi-media artist, programmer and instrument designer holding a MA in Music Technology from Norwegian University for Science and Technology (NTNU). Musically he is working within a wide variety of genres such as electro-acoustic free-improvisation, noise-rock, electronic pop and afro pop. Tejaswinee Kelkar is a singer and a researcher. She finished her PhD with the RITMO center of excellence at University of Oslo in November 2019. Her research interests are melodic cognition, motion-capture and musical-cultural analysis. Marek Susdorf is a Polish writer and artist; a graduate of Slavic Studies at Gdańsk University and RMA Gender Studies at Utrecht University; works as a Research Fellow at the Department of Musicology of Oslo University; his doctoral project concerns the musical-colonial relationship between the Netherlands and Suriname as well as recent employments of posthumanist theories in musicological scholarship. Dette er den andre episoden i serien om vokalmusikk og tilgrensende tematikk med VoxLAB-tilknyttede kunstnere. I første halvdel snakket vi om stedsspesifkt teater, lyddesign, og hvordan man kan lage kunst av å gå i dialog med virkeligheten, og vi fikk også et lite utdrag fra manuset til Urge Displacement, lest i studio av Ann-Helen Schjølberg og Hilde Hannah Buvik! I andre halvdel snakket vi om opera og stemmens forhold til språk, om realisme og aktualitet mm, og fikk høre et utdrag fra Trina Colemans musikk til forestillingen «After the Dream» sunget av Siv Misund.
