The Catch-Up ☕️

Fern’s grandad has gone in to a care home, so emotions are understandably a bit tender this week. Sending all the love. It’s officially the year of the fire horse (?? still not fully clarified but we’re leaning in). We debate the important seasonal questions — Chinese New Year and Pancake Day… sweet or savoury? The group remains divided. Fern has given up milk — yes, this means the end of cereal and cold milk as we know it. Thoughts and prayers. Charlotte smashed Parkrun and is now casually aiming for a triathlon because apparently she enjoys suffering. She also “bumped in to” the dancer (formerly the favourite) and naturally we spiral into a full date debate featuring strong opinions and quiche-based conundrums. Larissa hit up a gig at New Century to see Good Neighbours, and in home-reno news… all the windows are finally in the house. Progress is progress.

This Week’s Topic: Is It Ever OK to Lie?

We’re getting morally flexible…

😌 Charlotte fully owns that she’s going to come across as a liar - and she’s fine with it. Her official stance? Lying is simply flirting with the truth.

📺 Fern questions whether Traitors sets the right example? It’s a game built on deception, but does watching it with kids accidentally teach that lying is fair play? We talk getting out of plans. Fern’s fear? Making an excuse and then someone helpfully solving the exact problem you invented. Nightmare fuel.

👶 Larissa questions honesty with kids - where do we draw the line? Do we shatter the Santa lie?!

🚒 Final consensus? The firehorse will apparently come and save us all. But, ultimate 'do we lie' verdict: it depends on the situation… but Charlotte is firmly team “flirting with the truth", a mantra we've now all adopted!
