Loving The Alien – The Fashion, Faces, & Personas of David Bowie

Bowie super fan Peter Abrams breaks down the many Personas of David Bowie and how each one shaped Bowie’s career, music, and legacy! He and Chris go all the way back to the origins of Major Tom and Space Oddity, the creation of Ziggy Stardust and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and the evolution into Aladdin Sane (yes, that lightning bolt!). They talk The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, Diamond Dogs and Halloween Jack, the soul era of Young Americans, and the Thin White Duke from Station To Station. They get into the Berlin trilogy (Low, Heroes, Lodger), the return of Major Tom in Scary Monsters, and Bowie’s massive global takeover with Let’s Dance. Peter also dives into Bowie’s later reinventions including Tin Machine, the experimental ‘90s (Outside, Earthling), and the overlooked albums that fans need to revisit. And they close with Bowie’s final chapter – Blackstar, the Lazarus musical, and the mysterious “Blind Prophet” Persona that left fans analyzing his work long after he was gone. Plus, they break down Bowie’s acting roles like The Man Who Fell To Earth and Labyrinth, the influence of John Lennon, the struggles with fame and addiction, and how Bowie constantly reinvented himself without ever repeating the same move twice.
