Los satélites pueden vigilar la Tierra, rastreando posibles peligros para la salud y evaluando los riesgos actuales para las poblaciones. La tecnología espacial puede proporcionar una ayuda valiosa para la salud pública de múltiples formas. Por ejemplo, monitoreando la radiación UV, lo cual es importante ya que la sobreexposición a los rayos UV puede llevar a complicaciones de salud graves, como el cáncer de piel.
