The Peace That Surpasses: Why Peace Feels So Hard and How to Build It

The Peace That Surpasses: Why Peace Feels So Hard and How to Build It

What is peace and how do you actually live it when life feels overwhelming? In this powerful sermon by Rev. Dr. Luke Lindon at United Church of Christ Congregational in Medina, Ohio, the conversation moves beyond surface level calm and into something deeper, a kind of peace that holds steady even in pressure, conflict, and uncertainty. Drawing from Bible teachings including the Gospel of John and the letters of Peter, alongside insights from Brené Brown, Deepak Chopra, and Martin Luther King Jr., this episode reframes peace not as perfection or escape, but as a practiced, resilient way of moving through the world. If you have ever felt overwhelmed, restless, or stuck in cycles of stress and overthinking, this message offers a grounded, practical path forward. Through three simple but transformative practices, interrupting the spiral, releasing what is not yours, and learning to be present, you will discover how peace can become something you build, not something you wait for. This is a sermon about faith, emotional resilience, spiritual growth, and what it means to live with intention in a chaotic world. Listen in and begin cultivating a peace that lasts.
