People Think 10-Year-Olds Are Too Young For This Conversation — What Do You Think?

A live recording of my primary school session exploring emotions, body safety rules, online safety, secrets, speaking up, and the long-term impact of keeping difficult experiences hidden.

In this session, I take Year 5 and 6 pupils through a series of interactive games and challenges while sharing parts of my own life story — from what happened to me as a child, to working in aerospace and supercar engineering, receiving a job offer from Red Bull Racing Formula 1, and the mistakes I made later in life when I reacted emotionally instead of seeking support.

Throughout the session, we explore:

- feeling uncomfortable, unsure, or worried

- body safety and online safety rules

- trusted adults and speaking up

- emotional regulation

- peer support and kindness

- dreams, ambition, and future careers

- the importance of education and listening in class

The session is designed to help children understand that:

- they are never to blame for someone breaking safety rules

- difficult feelings should not be carried alone

- speaking to trusted adults is a sign of strength

- reacting impulsively when angry can have lifelong consequences

- their future ambitions are achievable

This recording is part of my ongoing work developing safeguarding education through storytelling, interactive learning, and lived experience.
