Radhika Yadav, a promising 17-year-old tennis player from Madhya Pradesh, was found dead under suspicious circumstances that shook the sports community and raised serious questions about athlete safety in India. Radhika, known for her national-level achievements and dedication to the sport, was discovered hanging in her hostel room at a government sports training center in Sehore on July 24, 2024. But from the very beginning, this case never looked like a straightforward suicide.

Radhika’s family, especially her mother, refused to accept the suicide theory. She was a focused and determined athlete with no known history of depression or mental health issues. What shocked everyone even more was that no suicide note was found, and yet the investigation seemed to be prematurely pointing toward suicide. Her parents demanded a full probe, alleging foul play — especially given how authorities and the coaching staff reacted with what they called “suspicious silence.”

The hostel CCTV footage and internal access logs became critical in understanding what happened during the final hours. Friends and co-trainees of Radhika claimed she was behaving normally the night before. Her mother alleged that her daughter had been facing pressure and was possibly being harassed, either by someone inside the training center or due to systemic negligence.

The case was handed over to the police for a detailed forensic investigation, but to date, no arrests have been made, and many questions remain unanswered: Why was there no note? Why was she left unsupervised? Was there any internal politics or harassment that pushed her to this edge? Or was it something even darker?
