Day 66 draws us into one of A.W. Tozer’s most piercing insights from The Pursuit of God: the greatest barrier to the presence of God is not the devil, nor the world, but self. The “veil of self,” Tozer writes, is woven from threads like self-sufficiency, self-pity, and self-righteousness—so deeply part of us that only the light of God can expose them. This veil cannot be educated away; it must be crucified. The cross alone can tear through the “living spiritual tissue” that hides us from His face. It is painful, yes—but beyond the tearing lies resurrection joy, freedom, and the unveiled presence of the Living God.
