#189 Beyond Models: Leadership, Complexity & Human Maturity | Jenny Bergh

#189 Beyond Models: Leadership, Complexity & Human Maturity | Jenny Bergh

Today’s episode is a philosophical keynote titled From Models to Frameworks — a reflective conversation about complexity, human maturity, leadership, and what it means to navigate a world that is increasingly uncertain and constantly changing.

My name is Jenny Bergh, and I’m the founder and host of this podcast, where we explore leadership, coaching, learning, human development, and the deeper questions shaping our time

This episode is being released in English, so wherever you are listening from, I’m grateful that you are here.

“All models are wrong, but some are useful.”

I am not against models. I’ve worked with models for many years. I teach them. I still use them.

The problem is not the models themselves.

The problem begins when people start believing that human development can be reduced to models.

Because there comes a point where models begin to do something strange to the way we think.

What happens when our models stop helping us understand reality… and instead begin replacing it?

In this philosophical keynote-style episode of Khraftpodcast, we explore one of the most important questions in leadership, coaching, and human development today:

Are we becoming too dependent on models, methods, and frameworks that simplify people and complexity?

Drawing from conversations with Tracy Sinclair, Lori Shook, Zubair Ahmed, and insights from Dave Snowden’s Cynefin framework, this episode dives into the tension between structure and humanity — between technique and mature judgment.

We explore: • Why all models are “wrong” — yet still useful • The difference between models and frameworks • Why complexity cannot be solved with linear thinking • How coaching risks becoming transactional when reduced to technique • Why judgment, discernment, and human maturity may become our most important future competencies in the age of AI

This is not an episode about quick fixes or leadership hacks.

It is an invitation to think more deeply about what it means to lead, coach, learn, and remain human in a world defined by uncertainty, complexity, and constant change.

Perhaps the future does not belong to those with the best models… …but to those who can remain present to what is still alive.
