In June 2020, the World Economic Forum published a book and launched an initiative called The Great Reset. Its stated purpose: to use the economic disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to rebuild the global economy in a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient form. Klaus Schwab, the WEF's founder, published the phrase "you will own nothing and be happy" as a summary of where the world might be heading by 2030. The reaction was immediate, global, and intense.

In this episode of The Conspiracy Theory Analyst, we examine the Great Reset conspiracy theory — one of the most searched political conspiracy theories of the 2020s — and ask the question that matters most: where does a genuine elite agenda end and conspiratorial fantasy begin?

We examine what the World Economic Forum actually is: a Swiss nonprofit founded in 1971 that convenes political and business leaders annually in Davos, Switzerland. Its membership includes the CEOs of the world's largest corporations, heads of state, central bank governors, and media executives. Its annual meetings produce policy recommendations that have demonstrably influenced international economic policy for fifty years. The WEF is genuinely powerful. Its agenda is genuinely influential. This is not contested.

We examine what the Great Reset document actually proposes versus what critics claim it proposes — the real programme of stakeholder capitalism, sustainability metrics, and digital financial infrastructure — and the claim that it represents a coordinated plan to eliminate private property, enforce digital currency surveillance, impose mandatory vaccination as a social credit requirement, and establish a technocratic global government answerable to no electorate.

We examine Klaus Schwab, his book The Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the specific policy ideas associated with the Forum — including the digital identity agenda, the central bank digital currency push, and the 15-minute city urban planning concept that became one of the most searched conspiracy subjects of 2023.
