Isaiah 46–54 | He Was Wounded for Our Transgressions

Isaiah 46–54 | He Was Wounded for Our Transgressions

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Isaiah with chapters 46 through 54 from the King James Version.

These chapters proclaim the incomparable greatness of God, who carries His people from birth to old age and faithfully accomplishes all His purposes. Isaiah speaks of deliverance, restoration, and the Lord’s tender remembrance of His people: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.”

At the heart of this reading is Isaiah’s profound prophecy of the suffering servant—a man despised and rejected, wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. He bears the sins of many and makes intercession for the transgressors, offering one of the clearest Old Testament portraits of Christ’s redeeming sacrifice.

The reading concludes with promises of compassion, enlargement, protection, and an everlasting covenant of peace. Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Isaiah chapters 46 to 54 lead us through sorrow and sacrifice into redemption, comfort, and enduring hope.
