Jeremiah 11–17 | Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in the Lord

Jeremiah 11–17 | Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in the Lord

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Jeremiah with chapters 11 through 17 from the King James Version.

Jeremiah proclaims that Judah has broken its covenant with the Lord and returned to idolatry. When a conspiracy forms against his life, the prophet brings his fear, grief, and unanswered questions honestly before God. Through drought, famine, false prophecy, and approaching judgment, Jeremiah carries the sorrow of a people who have rejected the fountain of living waters.

Yet these chapters also contain enduring words of faith and hope. Jeremiah declares that God’s words were the joy and rejoicing of his heart. He looks ahead to the nations coming to the Lord, and he contrasts those who trust in human strength with those who trust in God—like a tree planted beside the waters, whose leaves remain green even in drought.

Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Jeremiah chapters 11 to 17 invite us to bring our questions before God, examine the hidden places of the heart, and place our confidence in the Lord who searches, heals, and sustains.
