50 - Don't Let Play Disappear From Your Relationship

Play isn't a luxury in a relationship. It's a bonding mechanism that creates shared joy, and shared joy is one of the things that makes a relationship feel alive rather than managed. Couples can be doing everything else right, communicating well, handling life well, and still quietly lose this without noticing.

In this episode, Alastair shares the story of Chris and Jules, who had built a genuinely good life together. They were still fond of each other, but as Jules put it: "We're great partners. But I'm not sure we're still playmates." He asked them to commit to one genuinely playful thing each week, no purpose other than fun. A simple card game on a Tuesday night reminded them how much they enjoyed each other. This week's challenge: play together, purely for fun, and notice what it does to the energy between you.

Daily Relationship Tips helps couples strengthen relationship communication, rebuild emotional intimacy, restore relationship trust, develop healthy relationship habits, and reconnect before emotional distance becomes permanent.

Hosted by Alastair Duhs, relationship coach and creator of Reconnected.
