New York Times bestseller and darling Gemini Beck Dorey Stein is here to talk everything spectacular about Gilmore girls and her most recent novel, Spectacular Things. If you love a story that starts with a teen girl moving her and her new baby to a small town to make a better life for the two of them away from controlling parents, then you're going to love this book. It has a very familiar set up, but Beck's incredibly precise and emotional writing departs from our favorite origin to explore sisterhood, sacrifice, and soccer and how deeply the Lowe sisters need all three. One of the best books I've read recently!

In this episode, Beck realizes how closely she and Rory are aligned with former President Obama as they graduated college, how her nostalgia for Gilmore girls impacts how she feels about it now. We also discuss why you don't have to love sports to be absolutely moved by the way Beck loves it in her writing. I could've talked to Beck for absolutely hours. I hope you love her as much as I do!
