Keffe D Said Four Words On A Jail Phone

The prosecution rested its case in the Tupac Shakur murder trial after eight days and twenty-five witnesses. The final exhibit was a recorded jail call — and four words from Duane "Keffe D" Davis that the fiction defense can't touch.

Before resting, prosecutors played Davis on YouTube selling his book as "the real truth." They played him explaining why his side had reason to retaliate after the MGM Grand brawl. Then came the recording that closed the case — Davis on a monitored line, saying something no performer would say from inside a detention center.

The defense begins Thursday. Davis was told he has the right to testify and must make his decision overnight. Closing arguments are expected Monday.
