Another week, another PR disaster for a major Australian company. This time, Optus has been the victim of one of the largest cybercrimes in Australian history, but customers and politicians alike aren't buying the excuse.

It took Optus 24 hours to email its customers after going out to media, and since the news broke, it's been trainwreck after trainwreck in front of television cameras and reporters.

What does the cyberattack/hack mean for the everyday Aussie? What can you do to protect yourself? And what could Optus possibly do better? James Law and special guest news.com.au deputy editor Liz Burke break it down for you.
