The Gospel We Need - The Exchange

The Gospel We Need - The Exchange

Sin does not begin with bad behavior. It begins with a great exchange, trading the worship of the Creator for the worship of creation. Romans 1 makes this uncomfortably clear, and it does so for a reason. The darker the background, the more brilliantly the gospel shines against it. God's wrath is not the reaction of an angry deity waiting to punish. It is the response of a good God who refuses to ignore the harm sin causes in His creation. And yet, His response does not end with judgment. It ends with kindness. His kindness has a face, and that face is Jesus Christ, who pursued us into the middle of our mess so that we could be genuinely transformed from the inside out.
